Tycos' flora and fauna are far more aggressive in the lower altitudes, and two well-documented threats are the Blisterback and the Barnacles — both are best handled with stun-based counters like the Fighter Wasp's Stunner Turret or Cruiser auto-turrets.

Where the danger is
Lower altitudes concentrate the unsafe fauna, so most creature encounters happen in the lower altitudes where weather is also stormier. Plan to bring stun-based countermeasures whenever an expedition is going to spend time near cliffs or dense vegetation.
Blisterback — the range predator
The Blisterback is a slime-spitting predator that hits at range with a corrosive spit, so keep distance, use cover, and answer with the Fighter Wasp's Stunner Turret or with Cruiser auto-turrets. Engaging it in the open air with a Scout Wasp is not recommended.
Barnacles — the cliff-clingers
Barnacles are cliff-clinging creatures that harpoon both prey and drones, so they threaten players who approach island walls too closely or who bring PACE drones into their reach. The usual habit is to scout cliffs with the Scout Wasp's scanner before landing and keep the Cargo Wasp clear of cliffs where Barnacles can grab it.
Stun is the documented answer
Stun-based countermeasures are the documented answer for both creatures, which is why the Fighter Wasp and Cruiser stun turrets are the default anti-fauna tools. For the electronics-side threats that share the lower altitudes, see the PACE drones page.
